Saira’s birthday note for Sanjay

Saira Banu posted an old picture of Dilip Kumar and Sanjay Dutt on Instagram story. Along with the picture, she wrote a heart-warming message which read, “@duttsanjay has always been like a family to me. My whole family, from Ammaji to Aapaji, to sahab and me, we have seen him grow from a little kid to the remarkable man he is today.”

She also shared her fond memories with young Sanjay and his late mother Nargis Dutt. Saira said, “I still remember when Nargis aapa used to come to our house for some function, and he used to go with her – this cute, good-looking kid… Nargis ji would then shake hands with him and say, “Chalo, Saira ji ko bolo tum kya bolo mujhe?” And then Sanju would look at me and say in a cute voice, ‘I will marry Shaila Bano’. Hahaha, how cute! I think Sharmila Tagore and I were Sanju’s favourites.”

“Many hands make a job easier,” he concluded the message, “and we have all been glad to be a part of his journey. He has a special place in my heart. With my love and blessings, I wish him a very happy birthday.”
