Saif Ali Khan has told how people’s interest in star kids is more than his children. In an interview with Film Companion, the actor talked about how people are only talking about the star kids in Zoya Akhtar’s recent musical The Archies. “The audience and people are very interested in star kids. I mean, look at the Archies for example. We are only talking about a few (actors who are star kids),” Saif said in the interview. The Archies marked the film debut of actor Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda and late Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor.
She said the cameras have always been following her younger sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jahangir Ali Khan aka Jeh: “I mean they are constantly being photographed, constantly being followed. Tomorrow, if someone wants to make a film with one of them, it is not rocket science. Because obviously someone would be (wondering about his popularity). So we have to decide why and where this attention comes from. There was Taimur doing taekwondo, people took pictures of him and it went all over the internet. We don’t want that kind of attention. We do not create star kids. I mean, we can create it organically (laughs), but what makes a star kid is the press, the photographers and then the audience. Maybe they just want to see the star kid innocently. So why is it such a big deal?”
About Saif’s children
Saif has four children. Actors Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan are from his first marriage with actor Amrita Singh. He and his wife and actor Kareena Kapoor are the parents of Taimur and Jeh.
Saif will next be seen in Koratala Siva’s Telugu action thriller Devara: Part 1, where he will clash with Jr NTR. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor and will release on April 5.
