The Telangana government has declared ‘Sadar Sammelan’ as the state festival of Telangana, an official order from the state government said.
This order was issued by Shanti Kumari, Chief Secretary of the State Government.
The order dated November 1 reads, “The government hereby declares that the Sadar Sammelan will be celebrated as a state festival.”
According to the order, the state government requested the Commissioners, GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) and all district collectors (except Hyderabad district) to celebrate Sadar Sammelan as a state festival every year.
The order further reads, “The Department of Youth Development Tourism and Culture will take necessary further action accordingly. This expenditure will be incurred by the Youth Development Tourism and Culture Department from the budget allocated for the said purpose.

Sadar Mahotsav is an annual festival held for two days after Diwali. Organized by the Yadav community, the carnival features a lively procession of decorated buffaloes, which are paraded through the streets in a display of pride and devotion.
Earlier, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday participated in ‘Sadar’, the annual festival organized by the Yadav community of Hyderabad. He took part in the celebrations in Narayanguda area of Hyderabad.
Reddy said ‘Sadar’ is a festival celebrated after Diwali and organized by the Yadav community of Hyderabad. In this festival, a procession of decorated buffaloes is taken out.
Union Minister Reddy said that not only the Yadav community but lakhs of people participate in this show, where a huge procession of decorated buffaloes is taken out. The festival of Sadar is celebrated by the Yadav community living in Hyderabad after Diwali. Is celebrated. But lakhs of people from other communities participate in this show. People from the entire Yadav community, their relatives, families and people from other communities also participate in this program. This is an old tradition. This show continues till 4 in the morning. After Diwali, a big procession of buffaloes called Sadar is taken out, where people pray for the well-being of all. Milk, rain and grass…” he said.
