Moscow. Russia continues to attack Ukraine. Vladimir Putin is angry with the support Volodymyr Zelensky is getting from Western countries and for this reason he has threatened to use nuclear weapons several times. For this purpose, Russia has prepared a draft of amendments in its nuclear policy keeping in mind the increasing tension on the borders. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov gave this statement on Sunday.

During an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin, Peskov stressed that nuclear powers are supporting Ukraine in the conflict, according to Xinhua news agency. Peskov said that NATO is establishing its military infrastructure close to Russian borders. He said that the draft of amendment in the nuclear policy has been prepared and it will be formalized soon.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had talked about updating Russia’s nuclear policy in the Security Council meeting on Wednesday. He said that it should be adapted to the current realities. Putin said that if any non-nuclear state attacks Russia with the participation or support of a nuclear state, then it should be considered a joint attack.

Meanwhile, Russian air defense forces claimed to have destroyed 125 Ukrainian drones in the air. Russian air defense forces shot down Ukrainian drones overnight in seven regions and over the Sea of ​​Azov, the Defense Ministry said on Sunday. Quoting the Russian Defense Ministry, 67 drones were shot down in the Volgograd region, 17 in Belgorod, 17 in Voronezh and 18 in the Rostov region.

Additionally, one drone each was intercepted in Bryansk, Kursk and Krasnodar, while three were neutralized over the Sea of ​​Azov. Following the drone attacks, falling debris caused fires at several places in Voronezh and its surrounding areas. Local emergency services later informed that the fire had been extinguished. Earlier on September 21, Russia had claimed to have destroyed 101 Ukrainian drones in the air.
