RRB JE Recruitment 2024: Applications for 7951 posts will begin from July 30. Candidates can check eligibility, pay scale and more details below.
Railway Recruitment Board, RRB has released the recruitment notification for 7951 Junior Engineer posts. Candidates willing to apply for the posts can submit their applications on the official RRB websites of their respective states.
As per the notification, the registration process will begin on July 30 and end on August 29, 2024. The amendment window for correction in the application form with payment of amendment fee will open on August 30 and end on September 8, 2024.

Vacancy Details:
- Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant: 7934 Vacancies
- Chemical Supervisor/ Research & Metallurgical Supervisor/ Research: 17 Vacancies (RRB Gorakhpur Only).

Instructions for filling the application form
- Before filling the application form, candidates must ensure that they possess all the educational and technical qualifications prescribed for the post on or before the last date of submission of the form. Candidates awaiting results of the prescribed educational/technical qualifications are not eligible to apply, the board said.
- Each candidate can apply to only one RRB and the candidate is required to submit only one common online application for any one or all the notified posts as per his/her eligibility.
- Applications must be submitted only through any official RRB website. Selection of one RRB will be final, and applying to more than one RRB will result in rejection of all applications.
- The eligibility of the candidates will be provisional based on the details provided by the candidates in the online application. The RRB said that it will not conduct detailed scrutiny of the applications for eligibility, hence, the candidature will be accepted only provisionally, provided they fulfil the required basic eligibility criteria.
- If a candidate is found, at any stage of recruitment, that the information furnished by him/her is false, he/she has concealed any relevant information or he/she does not fulfil the eligibility criteria for the post, he/she will be disqualified.
- The Board said that mere issuance of e-call letter to the candidates will not imply that their candidature has been finally accepted by the RRB.
- RRB will conduct verification of eligibility conditions (with reference to original documents) only if the candidates qualify all the stages of the examination and are selected for document verification.
- Candidates must have their active mobile number and valid personal e-mail ID, as RRB will send all recruitment-related communications through SMS and/or e-mail only.
Age Criteria:
- As on 01.01.2025, 18 – 36 years.
- Relaxation in upper age limit for reserved categories.
- The Date of Birth filled in the application should be the same as recorded in the candidate’s Matriculation/SSLC or equivalent certificate.
pay scale:
- Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA): Level 6 (RSRP 7th CPC Pay Matrix) with initial pay 35,400/-, plus other allowances admissible at the time.
- Chemical Supervisor/ Research & Metallurgical Supervisor/ Research: Level 7 (RSRP 7th CPC Pay Matrix) with initial pay 44,900/-, plus other allowances admissible at the time.
Stages of the exam:
Two stages of Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME).
CBT 1: Total 100 questions in 90 minutes. (120 minutes for physically handicapped candidates)
CBT 2: Total 150 questions in 120 minutes. (160 minutes for physically handicapped candidates)
Negative Marking:
There will be negative marking of 1/3rd of the allotted marks for each wrong answer in the CBT mode exam.
Application fee
- All Candidates: 500 rupees will be refunded to the candidates On appearing in the 1st stage CBT, Rs.400 will have to be paid after deducting bank charges.
- For reserved category candidates the fee is Rs 250, which will be refunded after deducting applicable bank charges on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.
- Online fee can be paid through internet banking, debit/credit card or UPI. All applicable service charges will be borne by the candidate.
