Asserting that his debut OTT series Indian Police Force, which is currently streaming on Prime Video India, does not contain any unnecessary offensive content, filmmaker Rohit Shetty said. In an exclusive interview with ANI, the director of Golmaal franchise, Dilwale and several blockbuster films said, “Some bold and outrageous content on OTT platforms is central to the plot or story, but there are others where such content seems forced because There’s no censorship there.” , I didn’t want to make my audience uncomfortable. There are lighthearted films, mass entertainers and commercial films. There is a family audience for such films.”
“My audience comes to watch my films with the belief that if it is Rohit’s film, we will be entertained and we can watch it with our family members. So I want them to be comfortable, even if they Be watching my work in theatres, television and streaming platforms. There is no unnecessary abuse and nudity,” the filmmaker said.
On the experience of creating content for OTT and how different it was from making films, Rohit said, “Since shooting all seven episodes of this series would have been too much for me, I roped in my assistant director Sushant as co-director. Introduced Prakash. The director for this show. I asked him to shoot the entire terrorist part of the series and told him that I would not come to the set during the filming of this part. I asked him to shoot the entire criminal part , while I took care of the cop part. I told him that at some point in the show, our paths would cross and I would take the story forward from there.”
“Both are part of a common narrative and will merge at some point. It was an experiment. There’s the police and there are some negative characters, one of whom is looking out for the other. However, the general tone and tenor of the story remains the same. You see that in my movies.”
Produced by Rohit, the action-packed seven-episode series began streaming on January 19 on Prime Video India.
While the new series is doing well and has received strong viewership, Shetty also has high hopes from his next film Singham Again, the third installment of the superhit cop-based franchise.
The film is all set to release in theaters on Independence Day. Singham was released in 2011, starring Ajay Devgan, Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj in the lead roles, followed by Singham Returns in 2014. Both projects were declared hits at the box office.
