White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan postponed a scheduled trip to Saudi Arabia this week to meet with the crown prince, widely considered the kingdom’s de facto leader, due to a cracked rib.
Sullivan was originally scheduled to join the discussions with the prince, which coincided with U.S. efforts to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia. It is noteworthy that the destination of Trump’s first foreign trip when he assumed the presidency in 2017 was Saudi Arabia.
