Renault Kwid, Kagar and Tribiller buyers who seek a petrol-CNG model can opt for CNG kit retrophitment when purchasing these cars.
Renaults have joined the bandwagan of car manufacturers in India who are selling passenger vehicles with petrol-CNG powertrain. With this, Maruti Suzuki has joined the list of vehicle manufacturers including Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. This step comes at a time when the demand for petrol-CNG powertrain is increasing rapidly across India, due to the high price of petrol and a much cheaper cost of owners to car owners as compared to petrol or diesel.
The French auto giants have started providing CNG kit retrofitment options to their customers for Kwid, Kiger and Tribe models. This means that a customer can install a CNG kit on the premium when purchasing a vehicle to buy a renolt kwid, kiger or tribal. For this, Renault Kwid Buyers will have to take out 75,000 additional, while consumers of kegar and tribar will have to spend 79,500 additional. Interestingly, the CNG Retrofitment option begins soon after Renault updates its Kiger and Tribiller model’s lower variants with new features.

CNG retrofitment is available on all variants but not everywhere
The CNG retrofitment kit is available for all variants of KWID, Kiger and Triballer, except for automatic transmission and turbocharged engine-operated variants. CNG kit retrofitting will be done using a homogeneous kit through an OEM’s favorite seller that claims to have all safety and performance standards. In addition, the automaker has stated that CNG kit retrofitment will not affect the driving performance of these vehicles. Renault further said that CNG retrofitment cars will come with a three -year warranty.
However, this retrofitation of CNG kit will not be initially available PAN India. Renault will initially offer CNG kit retrofitment to buyers of these three cars in states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Initially, it will be available in 65 percent of the Indian market and will be 100 percent cover in the later months.
