Ranveer Singh’s protein bar was recently banned reportedly due to ingredients that could be harmful. Here’s what netizens have to say about it
Following in the footsteps of his actress and entrepreneur wife Deepika Padukone, who launched her own self-care brand in 2022, Ranveer Singh has entered the world of business. In November this year, he co-founded a protein food and supplement brand. Since his debut in Hindi cinema, the actor has been known as a powerhouse, a livewire because of his insane energy Band Baaja Baaraat (2010). Finally answering the question ‘what is he doing?’, he introduced the source as his own brand of protein bar, India’s first protein wafer bar. But last week, the product was branded ‘unhealthy’.
Fitness and nutrition coach Shitija, who goes by the name ‘Fit Chef’ on social media, shared a video calling out Ranveer’s brand for allegedly using hidden ingredients in protein bars that are bad for the body. Can be harmful. They did not mention the name of the brand or the actor, but used a blurred image of Ranveer holding a protein bar. Talking about the product, Shitija shared, “It was being promoted by a big Bollywood celebrity who looks so good that you just want to buy everything he sells. But you don’t buy everything he sells.” He suggested that consumers should turn the product over and look at the ingredients list, which left them ‘surprised’. Well, netizens have now reacted to her allegation.
Soon many netizens started trolling Ranveer. For example, one Reddit user claimed, “Newsflash: he doesn’t eat them himself. It’s all a money grab,” while another nasty comment said, “Ranveer himself is unhealthy for society.” Agreeing, a social media user said, “In case you didn’t know, Ranveer himself as a brand is quite unhealthy,” while another netizen shared, “Only gullible confused people are being sold by him.” Will buy anything, hahaha.” However, there were some who came out in support of the actor. For example, one such internet user wrote, “When celebrities like Ranveer are selling pan masala, you want to focus on protein bars with maida? Weird, but whatever floats your boat.”
