What to eat for Suhur to maintain your energy? Expert Ramadan reveals 5 best foods for Sehri before starting fasting.

The month of Ramadan is coming out in full spring, where fasting during this period is one of the five essential columns of Islam and an integral part of the belief of the Muslim community. Globally, more than one billion Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan and the total time of fasting is at least 12 hours, which is more than 19 hours each day in the region.

Suhur (Suhur is also spelling) is a pre-hair food and it should be a nutritious food that gives enough energy to last the effect. Some people eat snacks after Iftar to suppress their hunger and then fall asleep, leave Suhur and remain hungry until the next Iftar.

In an interview with HT lifestyle, clinical nutritionist Prachi Chandra at Sakra World Hospital in Bangalore said, “Remember that you should always eat during Suhur, preferably before fasting starts. Eating before sleeping or eating during suhur can cause serious blood sugar problems, dizziness and dehydration the next day.

Best food idea for suhur

According to Prachi Chandra, some options that you can consider before planning your food, are given below:

1. A large bowl of millet porridge and a handful of unsalted nut plus 1 seasonal fruit with milk/soymilk.

2. Wheat/oats based grains with milk, a handful of unsalted seeds and 1 seasonal fruit.

3. Multigrain bread/brown bread slices fried eggs/cheese omelet/steamed chicken sausage and a bowl of mixed cut fruits.

4. Regular tiffin items such as multiigraine idli-dosa, sevian etc.

5. Bharat Paratha (Paneer / Soya) and a bowl of chopped fruits with curd / curd.
