Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar announced these changes while providing details about the new instructions.

The Rajasthan Education Department has taken an important decision to ban the celebration of Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary in all schools in the state. As a result, this date has been removed from the school calendar. Apart from this, the name of the Qaumi Ekta Week organized in honor of Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary has also been changed. Education Minister Madan Dilawar gave information about the new instructions while announcing these changes.

Dilawar said the decision was aimed at honouring several notable personalities of the country. “Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary will now be celebrated as Sankalp Diwas. Additionally, the Qaumi Ekta Week, which was earlier organised on the occasion of this anniversary, will be renamed as Sadbhavna Week,” he announced.

Dilawar further said, “Since Hindi is our mother tongue, we have renamed this week as Harmony Week.” He also criticised Indira Gandhi for imposing emergency and said that it had caused a lot of damage to democracy in the country. He emphasised that the decision was also aimed at honouring other prominent personalities of the society.
