Actor Radhika Apte is fully prepared to play the role of a director. The actor, who has acted in many acclaimed films over the years, such as Padman, Asthadun, Monica O My Darling and more, will now start his direction with an action fantasy film called Kotya. About Radhika Opt’s Project
As reported by the Variety, the announcement was revealed as part of the Cineav-CHD market lineup, with the second edition of India’s Cinemature International Film Festival (CIFF). The lineup consists of 22 diverse projects from established and emerging filmmakers.
According to the report, Radhika’s film a “Hindi/Marathi action-fantasy follows a young migrant sugarcane cutter, which acquires superpower after a forced medical process and uses them to free his family from debt.” The feature film will be produced by filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane.
Lineup
Some other projects unveiled as part of the lineup include Hansal Mehta, the upcoming titles associated with Nandita Das, we all imagine Light Star Kani Kusuri, Akash Pink Director Shonali Bose and Ib El Oo! Maker Platek Vats.
On the work front, Radhika was recently seen in Sister Midnight. Filn had a world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, and went to earn BAFTA nomination at an outstanding beginning by a British writer, director or producer category. Radhika was also nominated for the BIFA Award. The film features Radhika as a woman, who is dragged into a sad wedding.
In December last year, Radhika announced the birth of her child with her husband, Benedict Taylor. On Instagram, Radhika shared a picture with the newborn, in which she breastfeed her. The photo also highlighted her return to work after her maternity leave.
