“Our Constitution is a ‘protective shield’. Such a ‘security shield’ that keeps the citizens safe – this is the ‘shield’ of justice, of unity, of the right to expression. It is sad that the ruling party’s allies, who have been making tall claims in the last 10 years, have made all efforts to break this ‘armour’,” Priyanka Gandhi said, adding that the government is trying to weaken reservation through lateral entry and privatization. Is trying.

Priyanka Gandhi was speaking during a discussion in the Lok Sabha on December 13 to mark the beginning of the 75th anniversary year of the adoption of the Constitution of India.

give priority to one’s interests

Gandhi accused the government of prioritizing the interests of one individual over the welfare of 142 crore citizens.

“The country’s wealth, airports and land are being handed over to one person while poor Indians are left to suffer. This flagrant misuse of public resources is unacceptable,” he said.

He also attacked the ruling coalition for weaponizing investigative agencies to suppress dissent.

He said, “False cases are being filed against opposition leaders to suppress their voices. This misuse of power is an attack on democracy.”

He also said that despite the efforts of the ruling government to erase the name of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru from books and speeches, his role in the freedom struggle and nation building cannot be ignored.

“If it were not for the results of the Lok Sabha elections, they would have started working on changing the Constitution. The truth is that they are repeatedly talking about the Constitution, because in these elections they have come to know that the people here The country will protect the Constitution of this country, while winning and almost losing these elections, they have realized that the discussion of changing the Constitution will not work in this country.

Government and opposition MPs are scheduled to speak during the debate against the backdrop of a bitter political confrontation that has rocked the ongoing winter session of Parliament, with the Indian faction demanding the removal of Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. The proposal has been presented.

Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh initiated the debate on the Constitution in the Lok Sabha by accusing the Congress Party of attempting to “hijack” the framing of the Constitution of India.

“There has always been an attempt to take over the work of constitution making by a particular party. Today, I want to make it clear that our Constitution is not the work of any one party,” Singh said.

Singh targeted Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for “carrying around with the Constitution in his pocket”. “They have started thinking that, in fact, the Constitution is in their pocket,” Singh said, adding, “Some leaders criticize India only when they go abroad.”

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, Singh said, “When a certain leader said that he wants to open a love shop, it is ridiculous.”

Our Constitution is a ‘protective shield’…sadly, in the last 10 years, many attempts have been made to break this ‘shield’.

Priyanka Gandhi, referring to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo visit, replied to Singh and said, “Mohabbat ki dukaan which you find ridiculous, crores of Indians went for it.”

The Wayanad MP also mentioned the Sambhal violence and Manipur crisis and criticized PM Modi for not taking out time to visit both the violence-hit areas.

This blatant misuse of public resources is unacceptable.
