Priyanka Chopra swears by this home-made morning drink to boost her immunity: ‘I can’t risk getting sick’

Priyanka Chopra has gone global but is still the same desi girl as she often shares homemade hacks and ‘desi nuskhe’ with her fans. These beneficial home hacks are made at home with natural and organic ingredients. Her DIY hacks cover almost everything – from beauty secrets to gut health. Here are some of PC’s suggested desi hacks for good skin, scalp, health and life.

PC’s Morning Drink

In a recent interview with Vogue India, she revealed a homemade drink that she drinks first thing in the morning every day for good immunity. “I drink warm water with ginger, turmeric, lemon and honey first thing in the morning to boost my immunity, as I am filming almost every day and cannot risk getting sick.”

Here are some other Desi hacks she has shared over the years:

Rub garlic on your feet

Rubbing garlic on feet relieves pain as it has anti-inflammatory properties. This ancient remedy reduces swelling and pain. After getting injured on the sets of his upcoming film The Bluff, he shared the remedy on Instagram, rubbing chopped cloves of garlic on his ankles. Garlic has antimicrobial properties, boosts immunity and improves blood circulation when applied to the feet.

lip scrub

Add the amount of sea salt you need in a mixing bowl. Then, add pure vegetable glycerin and rose water. Mix well and apply the mixture to your lips. Rub gently, then rinse, this will leave your lips refreshed and exfoliated.

Ubtan Body Scrub

This body scrub is helpful in both detanning and exfoliating. Take a cup of gram flour, unflavoured yogurt, fresh lemon juice and milk. If you have oily skin, Priyanka suggests using skimmed milk and low-fat yogurt as an alternative. Finally, add sandalwood powder and a drop of turmeric powder. Turmeric powder gives a bright yellow tinge to the skin, so the quantity depends on your preference. Apply evenly on the skin, let it dry and wash off.

Treatment of the scalp

If you have a dry scalp and dandruff, Priyanka’s homemade scalp treatment can help. Take a bowl of full-fat yogurt, which has soothing properties and hydrates dry scalp. Next, crack an egg, which is one of the best hair care remedies as it has beneficial properties that promote overall hair health. Beat the mixture till it turns creamy. Apply it on your scalp and when it dries, wash it off with shampoo.
