While attending the zonal conference at the School of Economics of Devi Ahilya University in Indore, Kumar discussed several issues including effective implementation of the new National Education Policy.
UGC has set a target to implement the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in 50 percent of the universities and colleges of the country by 2035. At present, this education policy is implemented in 21 per cent of colleges, said University Grants Commission Chairman M. Jagadish Kumar. He further said that efforts are being made to implement the universal semester system and eliminate the system of annual examinations in colleges and universities.
While attending the zonal conference at Devi Ahilya University’s School of Economics in Indore, Kumar discussed several issues including effective implementation of the new National Education Policy. He also said that implementing the semester system under NEP is a priority. The advantage of this will be that by conducting examinations at regular intervals and getting the results, students will be able to see how much they have learned so far.
