On the 27th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, a royal source revealed King Charles was ‘devastated’ after learning his ex-wife had died in a car crash.

Christopher Anderson, author of “The Day Diana Died,” explained Fox News Digital According to an eyewitness, when Charles was first told over the phone that Diana had died, he “screamed like a wounded animal”.
Later, Anderson said, Charles fled from Scotland’s Balmoral Castle to Paris and brought her back to England. “When Charles first saw her body he nearly fainted,” he said.

Anderson said that in the final months of Diana’s life, the divorced royal couple finally put aside their differences for the sake of their sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
“In the months before Diana’s death, she and Charles decided to put their bitterness behind them and, in his words, became ‘very good friends,'” Anderson said.
A close confidante of Diana told the author that “her love for Charles never waned”.
