Prime Minister Internship Scheme announced by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman It is set to go live on October 3, during his budget speech on July 23. Candidates can start applying from 12th October. The central government has joined hands with it. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the scheme.

The portal is believed to shortlist double the number of candidates for each internship post on the basis of profile, preferences and eligibility. From these, companies will select the candidates and issue offer letters.

Under this scheme, candidates will get the opportunity to work in top 500 companies of India which provide internship as part of their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) spend.

Trainees will be entitled to receive monthly stipend 5000 and one time financial assistance 6,000.

However, applicants must meet these conditions to get an internship.

eligibility criteria:

A. The applicant must be a permanent resident of India and must be between 21 to 24 years of age. It targets youth who have recently graduated and are at the beginning of their careers.

B. Applicant must be young

C. Importantly, he should be unemployed and not engaged in full-time employment.

The scheme was announced during the budget announcement on July 23 this year. The documents required to apply for this internship include Aadhar Card, Email ID, Mobile Number, Address Proof, PAN Card and Ration Card.

Internship aims to provide one crore internships in the next five years. Internships are designed such that at least 50 percent of the training involves practical work.

Its aim is to enable trainees to apply theoretical knowledge in a real professional environment, so that they gain practical experience which is important for their professional development.

Who is excluded:

A. Graduates from top institutions are excluded, such as those who have studied in top institutions like IITs or IIMs.

B. Those who are 25 and above.

C. Those in full-time employment.
