Popular game like PUBG may be banned on BGMI, this time Seema Haider from Pakistan may be the reason!

Date:

New Delhi. Battle royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has been banned in India in the year 2020. This game app was banned because of its association with Chinese publisher Tencent. Later, this game returned to the Indian market in a rebranded incarnation with the name Avatar Battlegrounds Mobile India i.e. BGMI. This game has been developed by Singapore company Krafton. However, now this too may be banned.

According to sources close to the matter, Indian officials are worried that the data collected by the game could pose a threat to national security and lead to cyber attacks. According to a report by our associate website News 18 English, a senior official of the Cyber Security Division of the Central Government, responsible for coordination with law enforcement agencies, has claimed that the agency has recommended shutting down the app.

What is Seema Haider’s connection?
The report does not mention clear reasons but factors like Pakistani citizen Seema Haider’s entry into India and other crimes have been cited behind this step. It is said that Pakistani citizen Seema Haider met her partner Sachin Meena on the BGMI platform. The game server is located in America. But Indian agencies are concerned about the possibility of data being transferred to servers located elsewhere and used in cyber attacks, which could compromise the country’s security.

An intelligence agency report highlights that some violations have been found that could create cyber threats by collecting user data for profiling with the intention of carrying out targeted cyber attacks on Indian users. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has informed the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) about this concern.

The intelligence agency’s report also says that there are many problems in the app, but the most important issue is that it is directly or indirectly communicating with servers located in China. Sources have also confirmed that other apps that have been ‘rebranded’ are also communicating with servers in China and are under investigation. An important meeting is going to be held next week to deal with the situation. The company will present its case in this and the central agencies will review their stand before taking a decision about the future of the game.
