PM Modi said to Bill Gates, our children are very advanced, they say ‘AI’ as soon as they are born, now deepfake is a big challenge.

New Delhi. Before the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Microsoft founder Bill Gates discussed many issues. Apart from these many topics, a major discussion also took place regarding AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence. Prime Minister Modi talked to Bill Gates on the role of Artificial Intelligence in today’s times. PM Modi jokingly said that children in India have become so advanced that they have started saying their first word ‘AI’. ‘In India, we call mother as ‘aai’ in most of the states and now some advanced kids are using aai as their first word…It’s a joke but aai and aai sound similar.’

Further PM Modi said that AI has entered the country beautifully, even the common man can use it easily. PM Modi said, ‘During the G20 summit, I used AI for language interpretation. The Prime Minister said, during the G20 summit, all my drivers downloaded an AI app through which they communicated with different foreign guests who came to India to attend the summit.

However, during his conversation, PM Modi also expressed concern about the misuse of AI. He has said that I have spoken to industry leaders and I feel that there should be a watermark on AI generated contents. So that it can be known that that content has been created by AI.

PM Narendra Modi said, ‘If such a good thing (AI) is given to someone without proper training, then there is a possibility of it being misused. I suggested that we should start with clear watermarks on AI-generated contents. So that no one can mislead. In a democratic country like India, anyone can use deepfakes. It is important to accept that deepfake content is AI-generated and we need to think about its dos and don’ts.
