PM Modi remembered Qatar’s friendship, said – relations deepened in all fields

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said India and Qatar have historically close and friendly relations and in recent years the multi-dimensional relations between the two countries have deepened in all sectors.

Before leaving on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar, Modi also said in a statement that in the last 9 years there has been significant cooperation with the UAE in various sectors such as trade and investment, defense and security, food and energy security and education. India’s cooperation has increased manifold. This will be Prime Minister Modi’s seventh visit to UAE and second visit to Qatar since 2014.

He said, ‘India and Qatar have historically close and friendly relations. In recent years, our multifaceted relations have deepened in all areas, including high-level political exchanges, growing trade and investment between the two countries, strengthening our energy partnership and cooperation in culture and education.

He said that in Abu Dhabi he looks forward to meeting UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and holding wide-ranging discussions on furthering the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Modi said he recently had the privilege of hosting Nahyan in Gujarat, where he was the chief guest at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

PM Modi said that at the invitation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Defense Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, he will address the gathering of world leaders at the World Government Summit in Dubai on February 14.

He said, ‘My discussions with Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on the sidelines of the summit will focus on strengthening our multi-dimensional relations with Dubai.’

During his foreign visit, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. He said, ‘The BAPS Temple will be a permanent dedication to the values ​​of harmony, peace and tolerance that both India and the UAE share.’ The Prime Minister said that he will also address members of the Indian community at a special event in Abu Dhabi.

He said he was looking forward to meeting Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Qatar. Modi said that under his leadership, Qatar is witnessing tremendous development and change. He said the strong presence of the Indian community of more than 800,000 in Doha is a testament to our strong people-to-people ties.
