New Delhi. Bajaj Auto is going to launch the updated model of its popular electric scooter Chetak on December 20. A new body frame will be used in the Chetak electric scooter, in which the battery pack will be fixed under the floorboard of the scooter.

In the new version, the under seat storage of the scooter can be increased to 22 litres. Apart from this, some changes can also be seen in the design of the e-scooter but these will be minor. The e-scooter is also expected to get more range with the new battery pack. Let us know what features the company can add in the new Chetak scooter.

Price may be around Rs 1 lakh
According to media reports, the price of the new Bajaj Chetak can also be kept around the current model. Currently Bajaj Chetak is available in 3 variants with prices ranging from Rs 96,000 to Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new model is expected to be launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1 lakh.

LED lighting setup with steel body
Like before, the electric scooter will come with a steel body and there will be very few changes in its design. It will get body colored rear view mirror, satin black grab rail, matching pillion footrest and charcoal black finish to headlamp casing.

This electric scooter will come with disc brakes, alloy wheels, LED lighting, telescopic front suspension and IP67 rated waterproof battery. For braking, it currently has drum brakes on both sides, but disc brake setup can also be found in the new model.

Talking about the features like hill-hold control and follow me home light, the EV has turn-by-turn navigation, music control, call alerts and colorful TFT display with customizable themes, follow me home light and Bluetooth app connectivity. Will be given.

Apart from this, the scooter will also get hill-hold control and an extra ‘sport’ ride mode. In India, Chetak competes with electric scooters like Ather Rizta Z, Ola S1 Pro and TVS i-Cube.

Chetak range and battery
The current variant of Chetak scooter gives a range of 137km on full charge. Its top speed is 73kmph and comes in three variants. This includes Chetak 2903, Chetak 3202 and Chetak 3201, whose price starts from Rs 95,998 to Rs 1,27,244 lakh.
