Howrah Bridge was the longest cantilever bridge at the time of its construction and is currently the sixth longest such bridge in the world. It is built on the Hooghly River in West Bengal.
In 1965, the name of this bridge was changed from the famous Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore to Rabindra Nath Setu. Now it is famous by the name of Howrah Bridge.
The height of this bridge is 23 meters, the daily traffic on it is about 1 lakh vehicles. With 150,000 people walking on it, it is known as the world’s busiest cantilever bridge.
