New Delhi. People’s life has become easier because of technology. This is true. But this technology has also created many problems. Now if people do not keep cash with them then they are not snatched from them directly. Money is now kept safe in bank accounts and digital wallets. By doing this it is expected that the money will be more secure. However, fraudsters and fraudsters have found a way to break into people’s digital wallets and accounts. One such case has come to light from Agra. Here a vendor has been defrauded of Rs 82500.

According to the information received, a cyber thug had approached the vendor posing as an agent of Paytm. He has told the street vendor that his Paytm KYC has to be done. In this way he took the OTP sent on the phone of the cart seller. After this, Rs 82500 lying in the cart vendor’s account were spent. Such news has come before also
This is not the first case when people have been cheated using Paytm as an excuse. A few months ago, when RBI took action against Paytm Payments Bank, many people were cheated with its help. At that time people were being called and told that their account would be transferred from Paytm Payments Bank to some other bank. After this, OTP was asked from them and then the money in the account was withdrawn.

How to avoid such scams?
No Paytm official asks you for UPI PIN or OTP. If anyone asks you for OTP then it could be a fraud. Paytm does not send you any link or SMS. If you get such a link then it may be fraud. Never download Paytm app from any third party source. Apart from this, you can secure your Paytm account with two factor authentication. If you suspect anything suspicious, contact customer care immediately.
