New Delhi. The government has issued another deadline for linking PAN and Aadhaar and has given the direction to PAN card and Aadhaar card holders to lick both their documents before this last date. If you are unable to do this, then your PAN card can be closed. If you have not done this work yet, then complete it as soon as possible.
If you do not link PAN and Aadhaar till this new deadline, then your PAN card will become inactive. This means that you will not be able to use it in any financial transactions. It is very easy to link PAN and Aadhaar. You can do this in both online or offline ways. For online linking, you have to visit the Income Tax Department website and follow the instructions given there.
What is the last date for linked?
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued a new notice, according to which it is mandatory for some permanent account number (PAN) holders to link their PAN with Aadhaar by 31 December 2025. This especially applies to those who have made their PAN card using Aadhaar enrollment ID instead of their real Aadhaar number.
Late fees will be paid
After the deadline of 31 December, the PAN will be charged a late fee of ₹ 1,000 on linking the PAN to the Aadhaar card. It also includes cases where PAN and Aadhaar IDs exist but have not been linked. In addition, those who have not linked their PAN and Aadhaar are in danger of their PAN being inactive.
