According to reports, on 4 August 1943, this plane of the Stinson model left for Pune from Colombo on its schedule flight. This plane left Colombo on its schedule and reached Pune. Everything was fine till he reached Pune, but what happened next was enough to meet everyone. Actually, this plane of VT-AQW registration number was above Lonavala and was moving towards Mumbai.

Suddenly the weather of Lonavala deteriorated a lot. This plane failed to cross the challenge caused by bad weather and crashed in the hills of Lonavala. At the time of the accident, there were some six people in this plane, including three passengers and three cabin crew. All passengers and crew members died in this accident in the hills of Lonavala.

According to reports, during investigation, it was found that this aircraft hit the slope of the mountain in bad weather. It was expected that due to bad weather, the visibility of the hills of Lonavala was probably reduced. It became difficult for this aircraft to get out of difficult paths amidst low visuality. Since there were no navigation system like GPS and Terin Warning System in those days, the plane could not be saved from the accident.
