NEET UG 2024 Controversy Live Updates
The exam was re-conducted at seven centres following the Supreme Court order. Grace marks were given to compensate for the loss of time at six centres where the exam began late on May 5.
“At least 52 per cent – 813 out of 1,563 – of the candidates appeared for the re-exam on Sunday,” a senior official of the National Testing Agency (NTA) said.
Amid a controversy over alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam, the NTA on Sunday barred 17 candidates from appearing in the exam who had appeared for the test at centres in Bihar on May 5.
Earlier, the agency had expelled 63 candidates for using unfair means in the exam. On Saturday, 30 additional candidates from Godhra in Gujarat were also expelled from the exam.
