Ola Roadster deliveries to start from January 2025: Top things you need to know

Ola Electric entered the Indian electric motorcycle market with its first e-bike range, the Roadster. The company recently revealed that the Ola Roadster will enter production soon. The Roadster series was launched during the company’s Sankalp 2024 event and deliveries for the base Roadster

Ola Roadster comes in three variants: Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro.

Ola Roadster comes in three variants: Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro. Of these, the Roadster is the mid-priced variant and comes in three battery capacities which include 3.5 kWh variant, 4.5 kWh variant and 6 kWh variant. 3.5 kWh model launches 4.5kWh is priced at Rs 1,04,999 (ex-showroom) Rs 1,19,000 (ex-showroom) and comes in 6 kWh variant 1,39,999 (ex-showroom).

The Roadster gets three riding modes – Eco, Normal and Hyper. It has a claimed top speed of 126 kmph and acceleration of 0-40 kmph in 2.2 seconds. The mid spec variant is claimed to have an IDC certified range of 248 km with a 6 kWh battery pack. However, it remains to be seen how far this can go in actual riding conditions.

Ola Electric will have many features like diamond-cut alloy wheels, an LED projector headlamp, 7-inch TFT touchscreen display, auto hill-hold assistance, CruTrim voice assistance, parking assist, group navigation, DIY mode. With re-gen and throttle sensitivity adjustment.

Additionally, the Roadster will also get cruise control, tow, theft and tamper protection, cornering ABS, front and rear disc brakes, monoshock suspension, IP67 rated battery and brake-by-wire technology.

Apart from the electric motorcycle range, Ola Electric is planning to expand the electric two-wheeler range with several new products. The company’s Gen 3 platform will be based on these products. While Ola Electric currently sells the S1 range of its electric scooters at retail, the company is planning to launch the S2 and S3 e-scooter model range. Meanwhile, there will be a new addition to the S1 range, with the S2 lineup getting three variants – S2 City, S2 Tourer and S2 Sports. The S3 lineup is reserved for the Adventurer and Tourer variants.
