PM Modi on Gig Workers: PM Modi made many big announcements while responding to the discussion on the nationalpatta’s recommendation. PM Modi has said in the Lok Sabha that now one crore gig workers will also get the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The PM said that along with registration on the e -ram portal, the process of giving health coverage to these 1 crore gig workers under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) will start. In such a situation, the delivery boy and Ola-Uber’s drivers will also get the benefit of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme in e-commerce companies like unorganized sector workers, street vendors, online Amazon, Flipkart, Zomato, Swigi.

On February 1, in the general budget 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a big announcement about Gig workers. The Finance Minister had announced that the government would provide identity cards to one crore gig workers. After registering on the e -ram portal, the government will provide many facilities to Gig workers. The country’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that the Modi government will now give an identity card to Gig workers. Gig workers will also be provided healthcare under the Social Security Scheme. Will invest in Gig workers of online platforms will be registered on identity card and e-earrings portal.

Who are gig workers?
Most of the workers working in the unorganized sector are independently contract workers. These include many services like people working on online platforms, delivery services, taxi services, correction on calls. In India these days, the number of people in this region is increasing rapidly. People who do food delivery or taxi -like taxi are considered to be the category of gig employees. After the budget 2025, the lives of these people can change.

What facilities will be available
Gig workers have been included in the e -ram portal under the Social Security Scheme, giving a new look to the scheme like PM Swanidhi Yojana. The Modi government is now going to issue a UPI-Linked Credit Card of Rs 30,000 for Gig workers. Last year itself, the Ministry of Labor prepared a draft and sent it to the Ministry of Finance for financial approval. After the Gig and Platform Labor Act comes, these workers will start getting many benefits. For example, they will be guaranteed security in exchange for working, their families will get the benefit of accident insurance. Hours of working will be fixed.

First of all, go to the e-program website.
After this, click on the registration option on the home page. Then write your Aadhaar number. OTP will come on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar as soon as the enter is pressed. Enter that OTP number. Then the new page will open and fill your bank account details in it. Then fill your education and information about the family and submit it. After this you will be registered. Then take a print out of your filled form. On this basis, your Ayushman card will also be made. A health cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per year will be provided under the AB PM-JAY scheme.
