The Punjab government is taking advantage of technology to provide quick medical aid to the injured.
In a landmark initiative aimed at promoting road safety and emergency medical care, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has integrated ‘Farishte Hospitals’ into the Maples mobile app. This strategic move, led by the Traffic and Road Safety Wing of Punjab Police in collaboration with the State Health Agency (SHA) and Map My India, is an important step towards enhancing emergency response capabilities across the state.
CM Mann said the initiative aims to provide navigation assistance without any hassles, enabling individuals to quickly locate nearby hospitals in case of a road accident and timely transport the injured to medical facilities.
‘Farishte’ scheme, a visionary project launched by the Government of Punjab, aims to reduce the morbidity rate caused by road accidents by offering prompt, hassle-free medical treatment in government and empaneled private hospitals. Till now, 384 hospitals across Punjab, including 238 private and 146 government health care centers, have successfully completed the Punjab Farishtey Yojana Online Application 2024 process and is now accessible through the Maples mobile app.
