Seoul -North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appreciated the “heroic” soldiers of his country, who fought for Russia in the war against Ukraine, in a ceremony, where he returned and decorated the soldiers and consoled the bereaved children with Hugs, the state media said on Friday.
Kim said in a speech quoted by KCNA: “Fighter activities of foreign operating forces … Veer proved without regretting the power of the heroic army”, and “liberation of the kursa” proved “the feeling of fighting of the heroes”.
In front of the wall of a monument, Kim was seen hugging the disturbed children of the falling soldiers, in front of the walls of a monument, listening to the dead, one of which wrapped his arms around the North Korean leader.
Along with the army generals, Kim participated in a concert for soldiers who returned from Russia as well as a banquet which included members of the bereaved family, KCNA said.
The event was the latest public honors of North Korean soldiers who fought in Russia.
Kim praised his foreign mission as the “The winning conclusion”, KCNA stated, although it was not clear whether it had indicated the return of its soldiers from Russia.
South Korean MPs, citing the country’s intelligence agency in April, said that around 600 North Korean soldiers have been killed fighting for Russia for Russia against Ukraine.
North Korea is believed to have planned another such deployment according to South Korean intelligence evaluation.
