For this important occasion, the Finance Minister wore a stunning six-yard saree that was a perfect blend of tradition and sophistication. She chose a beautiful off-white handloom saree that featured mesmerizing checkered detailing with square patterns and a broad pink border. The border was adorned with golden accents, highlighting the rich artistry of Indian craftsmanship. Her saree was paired with a matching pink blouse with half sleeves, which paired beautifully with the ensemble. For the Interim Budget 2024, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chose a striking blue handloom saree. For her 6th Budget speech, she chose a tussar silk saree adorned with intricate Kantha handiwork, complemented with a traditional ‘bahi-khata’ – a tablet wrapped in a red cover. Last year, she wore a vibrant red silk saree with temple border and exquisite ‘Kasuti’ embroidery from the Dharwad region of Karnataka.
