Feeling the da dan blues after the Season 1 finale? Don’t worry, its anime studio has announced the release window and other details of its brand new show.
Japanese animation studio SCIENCE SARU has been a revelation in the anime industry, especially after the overwhelming success of its latest wacky addition, Dan Da Dan. The standout banner behind hits like In-Oh and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off released the first teaser trailer of a brand new anime announcement as the clock struck midnight on Christmas Day in Japan. An early Christmas gift to otakus around the world included the formal introduction of a Santa Claus-themed quirky action mystery anime adaptation. Inspired by BEASTARS creator Paru Itagaki’s SANDA manga, the series has now locked the release window for next year.

What we know so far about the SANDA anime
Multi-fandom anime enthusiasts will also be delighted by the epic revelation that the upcoming SANDA anime shares a behind-the-camera connection with the beloved shonen series helmed by mangaka Haruichi Furudate: Haikyuu!!
The upcoming SCIENCE SARU project has cast Hinata’s voice actor, Ayumu Murase, for the lead role of Kazushige Sanda. Hiroki Toichi, whose anime credits include voicing Heiter in the acclaimed adaptation of Friarren: Beyond Journey’s End, will voice Santa Claus. The teaser scene for the SANDA series features the tagline, “Santa, please find my friend.” Like many bittersweet anime/manga finales, the original SANDA manga recently concluded its story. It originated from the launch of Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in July 2021.

Crunchyroll describes the story as follows: “Set in a future with declining birth rates, the story follows a boy named Sanda who discovers that his classmate, Shiori Fuyumura, plans to kill him due to a “curse.” and is Fuyumura’s missing friend. ,

Is there a release date yet?
SANDA, directed by Tomohisa Shimoyama at Science SARU, is set for a Fall 2025 premiere. Delicious in the Dungeon’s Kimiko Ueno handles series composition and scripts, while Scott Pilgrim Take Off creative Masamichi Ishiyama handles character design and main animation direction duties. Tomoyuki Tanaka supports the music production process.
