Actress Neha Dhupia reveals her postpartum weight loss journey and shares tricks of her inspiring transformation.

Hindi Medium actress Neha Dhupia revealed that she gained 17 kilos more than usual after giving birth to daughter Mehr. However, since the world is in lockdown, it was quite easy for her to shed the extra kilos and she could follow a weight loss diet at home.

She became pregnant again and gained over 23 kg. Nevertheless, Neha Dhupia did not initially focus on losing weight but focused on her health and well-being first, “Self-compassion is key, especially in the face of social scrutiny.” She also revealed that the journey has had a positive impact on her confidence and mental health, earning her more job offers.

They used these tricks:

1. Balanced routine

The actress, whose film Bad Newz releases next week, has avoided any rigorous routine that could have affected her energy levels as she was breastfeeding both her children for a year, which had led to her low energy levels and increased appetite.

2. Balanced diet and intermittent fasting

Neha started avoiding sugar, fried foods, and gluten, but maintained a balanced diet overall. Her normal routine naturally matches the schedule of intermittent fasting – she has breakfast with her husband at 11 am and dinner with her children at 7 pm.

3. Active lifestyle

Instead of following an intense workout routine, she took a more sustainable approach. She leads an active lifestyle, runs and occasionally hits the gym.

She advises new mothers struggling with postpartum weight gain to go slowly and not stress themselves too much. Instead of comparing your progress with others, one should focus on what your body needs and take care of yourself.
