NEET UG Counselling 2024: The NEET UG counselling 2024 session is expected to begin today i.e. July 24. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to release the detailed notification and schedule today on its official website mcc.nic.in.

Earlier on July 23 Supreme Court Refused to cancel NEET-UG 2024 exam. Education Minister after the decision of the top court Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the final results of the medical entrance exam will be declared within two days. The Supreme Court’s decision came after an expert panel from IIT Delhi concluded that the ‘ambiguous’ question had only one correct answer. Many candidates were awarded four marks by the NTA for giving one of the two ‘correct’ answers – which has now been held wrong by the Supreme Court.

Regarding the counselling session, MCC NEET counselling manages 15% of seats under the All India Quota. It also includes seats from central universities like Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University, Delhi University and Faculty of Dentistry at Jamia Millia Islamia. Additionally, it also covers seats from colleges under the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and Armed Forces Medical College in Pune.

What documents are required for NEET UG counselling?

Applicants must have the following documents: NEET UG Admit Card, NEET UG Scorecard, Aadhaar or PAN card, original and attested copies of Class 12 mark sheet and certificate, six to eight passport size photographs and caste certificate (if applicable).

Speaking about yesterday’s hearing, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra said that the existing evidence does not show that the exam results have been compromised or that the NEET-UG question paper has been leaked widely. However, the Supreme Court acknowledged that the NEET-UG paper leak did take place in Hazaribagh and Patna and said that it is “not disputed.”

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut questioned the Supreme Court’s decision and said, “The Supreme Court should know what is happening in the country. The Supreme Court was the last ray of hope. If even that ray is not showing us any direction, then where will we go? Is there any pressure on the government?” VCK MP Thol Thirumavalavan said, “This is shocking news. The Supreme Court’s direction is not in favor of the students who are affected by this NEET scam… The victims will have to appeal. This is the only solution.”

Education Minister targeted Rahul Gandhi

Minister of Education The press conference was held just hours after the Supreme Court order. Targeting Rahul Gandhi, Pradhan said, “When the NEET case came up, the role of the opposition became clear after the Supreme Court’s decision today. The attitude that the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha (Rahul Gandhi) had adopted till yesterday, invalidating the country’s examination system and calling it “nonsense”, reflects his mental state… By criticising it, Rahul Gandhi has criticised India. Misguiding the students of the country, creating confusion and inciting them to social tension, all this was a well-planned part of his politics.”
