NEET-PG exam which was earlier scheduled to be held on June 23, was held on August 11 after the Supreme Court refused to adjourn itEarlier, the Health Ministry had postponed it as a “precautionary measure” in view of alleged irregularities in some competitive examinations.
“How can we postpone such an exam. Mr Sanjay Hegde, nowadays people just ask for postponement of the exam. This is not an ideal world. We are not academic experts. In principle, we will not reschedule the exam. There are two lakh students and four lakh parents who will cry over the weekend if it is postponed. We cannot jeopardise the careers of two lakh candidates at the behest of five petitioners. We cannot do this. There should be certainty for medical students. We do not know who is behind these petitions”, the bench had said.
