NCET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday postponed the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2024 due to technical problems. The exam, which was to be held today i.e. on June 12, 2024, could not start at all the centers, so it was postponed. NTA said that the new date will be announced soon through the official NCET portal.
NTA said in an official release, “Unfortunately, due to technical reasons, the examination which started at some centres could not start at all the examination centres. As a result, the examination has been postponed. The new date of NCET 2024 will be announced soon through the official NCET portal.”
Informing all stakeholders about the current status of the examination to be held on June 12, 2024 (Wednesday) from 2 PM to 5 PM, NTA regretted the inconvenience caused to the candidates.
According to NTA data, 40,233 candidates had registered for NCET 2024. As per the biometric registration data, around 29,000 candidates had appeared for the exam at 292 centres in around 160 cities across the country.
NCET 2024: Exam Pattern
The NCET 2024 exam is a computer-based test (CBT) that lasts for 3 hours (180 minutes).

Each correct answer will carry +1 mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
The exam consists of 66 subjects, including 38 languages, 26 domain subjects, a general test, and a teaching aptitude test. Each candidate has to take seven subjects, including 2 languages, three domain subjects, a general test, and 1 teaching aptitude test.
It is important to note that NCET 2024 is designed for admission to the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in selected Central/State Universities/Institutes including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges for the academic session 2024-25.
