Senior BJP leader Prahlad Joshi has said that Narendra Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third time on Sunday, June 9.
Addressing the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting in the Central Hall of the old Parliament House, Joshi said the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for June 9 at 6 pm.
Senior alliance leaders, including chief ministers and NDA MPs, attended the meeting. BJP president JP Nadda is likely to introduce a resolution supporting Modi’s leadership, which is likely to be supported by allies and MPs.
Other NDA leaders like Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Anupriya Patel and Pawan Kalyan were also present in the meeting. With 293 MPs, the NDA easily crosses the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
BJP National President JP Nadda said in the meeting, “We heartily congratulate the Prime Minister, who spent every moment in the service of the nation. This is why India is making history today and the NDA is forming the government with a majority for the third consecutive time.”

On reaching Parliament, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said, “I have already congratulated him (PM Modi) for the third term and for the success of the third term of the NDA government.”
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who arrived to attend the NDA parliamentary party meeting, said, “We could win only one seat in Goa. I am sad that we could not win even the second seat.”
After Modi’s election as the leader of NDA MPs, key alliance members like TDP’s N Chandrababu Naidu, JD(U)’s Nitish Kumar and Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde are expected to accompany the Prime Minister to meet President Draupadi Murmu. They will hand over to her a list of MPs supporting Modi.

With 293 MPs, the NDA has easily crossed the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP and Nitish Kumar’s JDU have supported the NDA by winning 16 and 12 seats respectively in their respective states.
The Indian Bloc has 234 MPs and the Congress has 99 MPs in the new Parliament.
