Muzaffarpur Junction in Sonpur division has earned 117 crores. This income is from ticket sales and income from January 2024 to June this year. In the first six months of the year, Muzaffarpur station was at the forefront in ticket sales and income among the 94 stations of Sonpur division.
More than 20 lakh tickets sold
According to railway records, more than 20 lakh tickets have been sold from Muzaffarpur station during this period including UTS and PRS. Barauni is second and Hajipur is third in terms of earnings. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana, the work of redevelopment of Muzaffarpur Junction is going on in full swing. In the coming days, the junction will be equipped with modern facilities. A new building is being constructed here along with the expansion of the platform. The combined building terminal is almost ready. In the coming days, the number of passengers coming and going from this station will increase further.
50 lakh tickets in one day
According to the information received from the railway, a data was released by the railway in the month of May this year. In that, Muzaffarpur Junction had the highest number of passengers on May 6 and a record income was recorded. A total of 25,996 passengers came there in a day. A total income of 49 lakh 87 thousand 810 rupees was generated from unreserved tickets. A record was also made in the sale and income of ATVM tickets here. The average number of unreserved passengers at Muzaffarpur station is 14,000 and the income is 20,00,000 lakh rupees.
