The results of CA Final November 2023 were made public by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on Tuesday. Rishi Malhotra of Jaipur secured the third rank by scoring 590 marks (73.75 per cent). He achieved this inspiring and impressive position in his very first attempt. Rishi has shared this position with another CA topper Tikendra Kumar Singhal from Jaipur, meaning Rishi and Tikendra jointly stood third.
Many tragic incidents happened to Rishi while preparing for CA exams. He started his preparations in 2019 and the next year, when COVID-19 arrived, three of his family members died from the pandemic. His father, grandfather and grandmother all died within a week.
This happened during his articleship in the Delhi office of E&Y. Everything happened so fast that he had to come back to Jaipur from Delhi and leave the E&Y office. After this he completed his internship in Jaipur and is currently working in the same business.
According to the Indian Express, 22-year-old Rishi Malhotra himself got infected in the second wave of the Covid pandemic, due to which he had to be hospitalised. In 2019, he had thought of taking admission in one of the top 3 colleges of Delhi. But since he could not succeed in this, he decided to do Chartered Accountancy.
Rishi Malhotra’s mother is currently working as a Director in the Pension Office of the Government of Rajasthan. His sisters work in Siemens AG (Pune) and Dell Inc. (Bangalore). Rishi got full cooperation and support from his mother and sisters. In preparing his notes, Rishi reportedly turned to ICAI study material. Furthermore, he believes that preparation through review and mock exams is important for success in CA Final. He repeated the test series about twenty times and solved it four to five times.
