Karnataka Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil’s statement came after private colleges appealed for an increase of 10 to 15 percent.
Karnataka Minister Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil said on Saturday that despite the pressure of private medical colleges, there will be no increase in fee structure for medical and dental courses in the upcoming academic year.
The minister clarified this in a meeting with the office-holder of private medical and dental college management, his office said in a statement.

Private colleges had appealed for an increase in fees by 10 to 15 percent, in which the minister said that the government had allowed an increase of 10 percent last year, and no fee hike would be allowed this year.
Given that last year’s 10 percent increase was sufficient, Patil emphasized that there would be no fee increase this year, and an agreement that formally formally form the decision would be signed soon.
