September 2025 began with a blast for the Indian passenger vehicle market.
The Indian passenger vehicle industry started the month of September with a blast. Despite lodging dull sales in August, continuing for four consecutive months, the first week of September saw a pile of exciting debuts and announcements in favor of the Indian passenger vehicle market. The month began this month with the unveiling of Maruti Suzuki Victoris, launch of Hyundai Bitter King Edition. The speed has been slaughtered to continue, as in this month, several other cars have been launched, including Vinfast VF6 and Vinfast VF7.
Apart from the car launch, the Indian passenger vehicle industry has seen a major step by the GST Council, as it has reduced tax rates on PVS, especially small cars. The new tax regime is to be implemented from 22 September.
There is a quick eye on major events in the Indian passenger vehicle industry in early September 2025.
Maruti Suzuki unveiled its latest mid-size SUV Victoris, which is a major model from the Arena range of products. Victoris is slapped soon to go on sale. Next to him, the car manufacturer has already opened booking for SUVs. It comes with a fresh design, advanced technology-edited upmarket and a host of class-solving features as well as a powerful range of powertrain options, including hybrids.
As soon as the Hyundai buyer completed 10 years in India, the car manufacturer launched the Creta King, King Knight and King Limited versions to mark the milestone. This trio of special versions receive many external, internal and convenience enrichment. The buyers arrive as King, King Limited Edition, and the latest repetitions of King Knight SUVs, aims to keep the brand blockbuster fresh in the fast crowded middle -sized market.
In an attempt to promote domestic consumption and eventually revive the economy, the GST Council has approved a decrease in GST rates in various segments. Passenger vehicles have also benefited due to this. Most cars in various powertrains will now be imposed 18% tax below 28% tax. Some large cars will be taxed at 40%, but even less than total tax events that the pre-reconciliation era of GST commanded.
