Lowest selling cars: Maruti Suzuki is the largest car selling car manufacturer in the country. The company sold 1.66 lakh units of cars last month, which is about 60 percent more than December 2023. However, even after this, there are some cars of the company which are having to make a lot of efforts to sell them.
There has been a decline in the sales of hatchback as well as sedan cars in the Indian market. This has also had a direct impact on Maruti’s premium sedan Ciaz. The highest sales of Maruti Ciaz were recorded in September last year which was 1,491 units. At the same time, in January this year, only 363 units of this car were sold, which is the lowest in the last 6 months. There has been a decline of more than 25 percent in the sales of Ciaz on a monthly basis.
Ciaz has not received any major update for a long time.

It has been more than 9 years since Maruti Ciaz was launched in the market. In this time the company has not made any major changes in this car. Let us tell you that during this period, three generation cars of Hyundai Verna and Honda City have arrived. Another major reason for the low sales of Ciaz is its outdated engine. The company has not given any update in its engine for a long time. As before, it is coming with 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, whereas cars like Honda City have been introduced with hybrid engine and advanced technology like ADAS.
With an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.40 lakh, Maruti Ciaz is the cheapest sedan in its segment. It is also cheaper than the competition Skoda Slavia, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus.
Maruti Ciaz engine
In Ciaz, the company offers 1.5-liter petrol engine which generates power of 105 bhp and peak torque of 138 Nm. This engine comes with the option of 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission. This car is capable of giving a mileage of 20.65 kilometers per liter. The company is selling it in four variants Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Offers worth Rs 53,000 are also being given on Ciaz in February 2024.
