Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar on Tuesday ordered a SIT probe into the statement of Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange against state Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis after BJP MLA Ashish Shelar raised the demand for a probe.
Earlier in the day, BJP leader Praveen Darekar expressed disagreement over Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange’s remarks in the Maharashtra Legislative Council against Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, blaming senior politician Sharad Pawar. Opposition party members objected to Darekar’s statement, resulting in disruption in the House and proceedings had to be adjourned for five minutes.

Earlier, while speaking at Antarwali Sarti in Jalna on February 25, Manoj Jarange Patil had said that he will march to Mumbai and protest outside the residence of Maharashtra Deputy CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis.
“Some people are being lured and pressurized to make false allegations against me. Fadnavis is behind these conspiracies. He wants to kill me. I immediately go to Sagar Bungalow (Fadnavis’ official residence in Malabar Hill, Mumbai) ) ready to march.” PTI Quoted Jarange.
Jarrange’s allegations against Fadnavis irked his supporters, leading to chaos at the crowded meeting venue. Responding to the allegations, Fadnavis said, “I did not hear what he leveled against Fadnavis. Jarang’s allegations irked his supporters, leading to chaos at the crowded meeting venue. “Fadnavis does not like anyone being more popular than him. It is because of Fadnavis that despite peaceful protests by Maratha workers, police complaints were filed against him. The court has given us permission to protest peacefully. Then why was a complaint lodged with the police? PTI A regional news channel quoted him as saying.
