Missing Ladies actor Sparsh Srivastava revealed that he is celebrating his birthday with his family in his hometown Agra and is taking some time to digest the news.
Actor Sparsh Srivastava said when he got the news that ‘Missing Ladies’ had been selected as India’s entry for the Oscars, he was “flooded with messages.”
He said, “I never thought that we will reach Oscars. It all happened suddenly. I was in a meeting and my casting director Romil called me. He gave me this news. I never thought that the film will become such a big film and will be selected for Oscars. No one could have imagined this. We all knew that we have made a good film. We were expecting it (Oscars), but were not sure about it.”
Srivastava said he is celebrating with his family in his hometown Agra and taking a moment to take the news in. “They are very happy with the news. My family is very emotional. They are eating sweets. They have tears in their eyes. I am feeling great to celebrate this moment with them,” Srivastava, 25, says.

For Srivastava, who has worked in films such as Ae Mere Watan, Jamtara and Collar Bomb (2021), the Oscar ticket feels like a validation of the work he has done so far: “After the film’s release, the response I got from the industry and the audience felt like ‘okay, you are on the right track’ and this only cements it further.”
Will this shape his approach towards his next roles? “Not at all,” says Srivastava. “The idea behind all my roles has been ‘if it gives a message, great, but it should always entertain the audience’. I believe if the audience is spending money to watch my film or show, they should get their money’s worth and be entertained,” he adds.
