Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have approached Kate Middleton in a bid to make peace, a source has told Closer. The insider claims the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now ready to end their feud with the royal family.
“Meghan wants to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them — looking like some kind of royal protector might improve her image. And, despite all the bitterness between them, her heart goes out to Kate — she can only imagine how tough this situation must be for her,” the insider told Closer, referring to Kate’s battle with cancer.
“Meghan has made it clear that she wants nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a path to healing in the best interest of all. She is ready to put aside the anger and bitterness,” the source said.
The source added that Meghan hopes her feelings will get through to Kate and that repairing their relationship will bring the Sussexes much relief.
“Of course, it’s not really up to her and Harry, all they can do is keep in touch and offer a peace offering,” the source added.
Meghan Markle’s relationship with Kate Middleton
According to the Daily Express, Meghan and Kate’s relationship has been strained since Harry introduced Meghan to the royal family. Before Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018, they disagreed over Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress. This led to an argument over text messages, which led to Meghan crying. The next day, Kate sent Meghan flowers and a card to apologize.
However, Harry-Meghan’s relationship with Prince William and his wife continued to deteriorate. Meghan and Harry left their royal family roles in 2020 and moved to the US later that year.
The Sussexes have publicly criticized William and Kate several times, most notably in a 2021 TV interview with Oprah Winfrey and in Harry’s 2023 autobiography “Spare.” However, the Prince and Princess of Wales have maintained a dignified silence on the issue.
