Kartik Aryan reveals the fitness secret of his physique: ‘Your abs are made in the kitchen…’

Actor Kartik Aaryan underwent a remarkable transformation for Chandu Champion, the biopic on Murlikant Petkar, who became India’s first Paralympic gold medalist in 1972. Now, the actor has revealed the steps he took to achieve the physique of an athlete.

How did Kartik Aryan get his body for Chandu Champion?

Speaking to the screen, Karthik revealed that it took him a lot of time, about 1.5 years and hard work to achieve the physique for Chandu Champion. The most important thing that helped him was adjusting his sleeping patterns. He started sleeping every day around 10:30 pm. “I was an insomniac earlier. My sleeping pattern during filming was – I would sleep at 10:30 pm and wake up at 6:30 or 7 am. You need at least 8 hours of sleep [to achieve that body]” he said in the interview.

‘Your abs are made in the kitchen…’

Apart from sleep, he also paid attention to his diet. “Everybody will say the same thing – your body and your abs are made in the kitchen rather than the gym. it [diet] This was the most important part of my 1.5 to 2 year journey, which included cutting out sugar, eating less gluten, eating minimal carbs and eating more protein,” said the actor.

He further added, “My team and I looked at all these details at a microscopic level and then we followed them diligently. I was like a machine at that time. If I drank tomato soup at night, I kept eating it for one and a half years. My life became a bit boring, but the results were so amazing that it made me feel motivated to achieve my goal.

Did he have any gossip meal during Chandu Champion?

Karthik revealed that he did not have any cheat meals during his preparation for Chandu Champion. However, when he is not filming or preparing his body for a role, he loves Chole Bhature, Aloo Chaat, street food and Chinese food. He has a sweet tooth and likes to eat ice cream, pastries and chocolates. The actor also likes Indian food very much.

Karthik’s advice for fit body

Kartik advised the audience to adopt a diet that is suitable for them. He revealed that because his diet was for a role, his body fat percentage reached about 7%. But if one is trying to bring changes in his/her normal life, then he/she should simply follow a healthy lifestyle which includes at least one hour of gym or sports daily, good diet and healthy sleep pattern.
