Kannappa, the mythical drama of Telugu actor and producer Vishnu Manchu, has already created important discussion among the audience. However, during a recent promotional program for the film, a statement made by Cast member Raghu Babu disappointed fans.

Raghu Babu warns of troll
According to the Telugu 360, at the event, Raghu Babu criticized the film and warned the trolls, “If any film trolls Kannappa, he will face Lord Shiva’s anger and curse …” This statement did not sit well with internet users. While some closed it, others rejected it as ‘strange marketing gimmick’.
Reddit reacts to statement
A reddit user shared the post on the platform, in which many people inspire to express their disappointment. One user jokingly said, “Fear and religion have always worked in this country. I can’t wait to go to hell and to be fried in oil because I have committed a lot of sins.” Expressing disappointment over the statement, another wrote, “What kind of strange marketing is this? Oh God !!!” Another comment read, “As an enthusiastic Shiva devotee … I can say that he doesn’t have enough time …” Another user compared it to previous controversial films, writing, “In other words, another Edipurs on the way?”
About Kannappa
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Mohan Babu, the film is based on the legend of Kannappa, a devotee of Lord Shiva in Hinduism. Kannappa starred Vishnu Manchu in the lead role with Mohan Babu, Madhu in auxiliary roles. The film also features special cameos by Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal. It is scheduled for dramatic release on 25 April 2025.
Speaking about the Star-Stad Cast and the PAN-India appeal of the film, Vishnu Manchu told Hindustan Times, “Every person acting in this film made it out with respect and love for his father. I wish I could take credit, but I lie!
