Days after resigning from the CM Atishi-led Delhi Cabinet and membership of the Aam Aadmi Party, Kailash Gehlot on Wednesday resigned from the membership of the Delhi Assembly.
The former Delhi Transport Minister also sent his resignation to Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal.
In his letter, Gehlot wrote, “You may be aware that I have resigned from the post of GNCTD minister on 17.11.2024. On the same day, I had also resigned from the primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party.”
He said, “Most of my reasons for this decision are shared in the letter dated 17.11.2024 which I sent to Shri Arvind Kejriwal ji and the same is attached herewith. The main reason was that AAP started taking advantage of its It had damaged my moral and ethical values, making it difficult for me to move forward.”
Gehlot said, “I am not tendering my resignation from the Delhi Assembly. It should be accepted with immediate effect.”
