After giving the world a taste of countless masterpieces like Yuri!!! On Ice, Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, 2024 Ranma ½ Adaptation, Chainsaw Man, and more, Japanese animation studio MAPPA is all set to unveil its new original TV anime premiere this week. Unlike the grand roster of anime titles that use light novels or manga as source material, Zenshuu does not rely on any such pre-existing lore. All credit goes to creators Mitsuru Yamasaki and Kimiko Ueno, who sat in the director’s seat and wrote the script, respectively.
Wishing otakus a very Happy New Year, the famous banner’s latest project will unveil a meta-narrative as fans get excited about an anime about the making of an anime with the upcoming Zenshuu Episode 1.

Following the announcement of the new title in March, MAPPA launched an official website and X/Twitter account dedicated to ZENSHU. The acclaimed studio describes the story: “After graduating from high school, Natsuko Hirose began her career as an animator. Her talent blossoms rapidly and she makes her debut as a director in no time. His first anime became a major hit, spawning a social phenomenon and earning him recognition as an emerging talented director. Her next project will be a romantic comedy film based on first love! However, having never been in love herself, Natsuko struggles to understand the concept of first love, and as a result, she is unable to create a storyboard, causing film production to halt.
The lead cast of the brand new original anime project includes well-known industry names Anna Nagase, who this year voiced Nagisa Funami in Blue Box and Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad ISEKAI, lending her voice to protagonist Natsuko Hirose. Then, Kazuki Ura (Yoichi Isagi in Blue Lock) voices Luke Braveheart, Rei Kugimiya (Happy in Fairy Tail) plays Yunio, Minori Suzuki (Rosina in The Ascendancy of a Bookworm) voices Memelon. Band-Made’s “Zen” will be played as the opening theme song, while “Just As You Are” (literal translation) by Suu will close the Zenshu anime episode.

where to watch zenshu episodes
According to the anime’s official website, TV Tokyo will be the primary Japanese broadcast channel of the new MAPPA series. Episodes will begin airing on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Other networks such as BS TV Tokyo and AT-X will also begin airing the show at later dates.
Amazon Prime Video has streaming distribution rights in select locations. As a result, ABEMA Premium and Anime Store, in addition to other services, will also stream the show.
However, international fans’ trusty anime companion, Crunchyroll will be working its magic to bring the Japanese release closer to them.
