The principal of a private school in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district has been accused of ordering 80 Class 10 girls to take off their shirts to write messages, following which the administration has launched an investigation, an official said on Saturday.
The girls were reportedly forced to return home in blazers and without shirts.
Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Madhavi Mishra said that the incident took place on Friday in a reputed school in Digwadih of Jorapokhar police station area.

Parents complained to the DC that Class 10 students were celebrating ‘Pen Day’ by writing messages on each other’s shirts after giving their exams.
The principal objected to the celebration and asked the students to take off their shirts, although they apologized. Parents told DC that all the students were sent back home in blazers and without shirts.
“Many parents filed complaints against the principal. We also talked to some victim girls. The administration has taken the matter seriously. “A committee has been formed to investigate the matter,” Mishra said.
